Welcome
to Class 4 (Year 5/6)
Mrs Lloyd
Meet your teacher
Hi everyone! My name is Mrs Lloyd and I will be your Y5/6 class teacher in September. I can’t wait to meet you all and I am super excited to join the Foljambe team. I have been a primary school teacher for 26 years with experience in teaching mainly Y5 and 6 and have taught as part of the Wickersley Partnership Trust for just over 9 of those years. My degree is in geography but I also love science, PE and maths.
I am married to David and am a proud mum to my son and daughter but I also adore my furry daughter Belle (my 3-year-old cocker spaniel) who I love to take for walks. In my spare time, I love to be with my family going for walks and being in the outdoors. I attend weekly pilates classes, have attended taekwondo classes with my children and our particular love as a family is skiing – I love sport! I also love listening to music and can often be seen singing my heart out in my car – I am certainly not a pro though!!!
I am excited to be your new year 5/6 teacher and am looking forward to getting to know you all and joining your school. We will have a fabulous year of working hard, having fun and making lots of great memories together. I hope you all have a lovely summer and I will see you all in September.
Meet your Teaching Assistant
Mr Mason
Hi, my name is Mr Mason I am looking forward to working with you. I love maths and sport and hope you all do too!
Areas of Learning
We have an exciting curriculum planned and the children will be taught exciting lessons which will enable them to become geographers, historians, scientists to name just a few. We have planned some wonderful learning opportunities for the children and will hopefully be able to take part in some exciting class visits to further support our learning back at school.
Homework – Homework is handed out every Friday (when possible) and must be returned the following Thursday. Please ensure that you do your homework at home as it ensures that you get extra practice. It’s so important! Homework will consist of spellings, reading and timetable practice using TTRockstars. Children will also have a termly topic to complete which will hopefully encourage them to be imaginative and creative.
Reading – We encourage your child to read at least 10 minutes a day.
