Foljambe Primary School Students Temporarily Join Thrybergh Primary School During Campus Rebuild

Just before the Easter holidays, all of our students made the temporary move to Thrybergh Primary School whilst construction works take place for our campus rebuild.

The move will accommodate our students until the building works are completed. 

The planned works for the rebuild include:

  • Extensive roof works and the installation of cladding 
  • Demolition of the building to the front of the school and construction of new building and corridor
  • Full electrical rewire of the whole site which will include new LED lighting throughout
  • Installation of new boilers/water heaters
  • Full refurbishment of all classrooms, communal areas and toilet blocks
  • Installation of new outdoor provisions in KS1 and Foundation Stage including a multi-use games area

Mrs Tate-Brier, Headteacher at Foljambe Primary School said: “So far during our time with Wickersley Partnership Trust, we’ve made some fantastic achievements. However, something that’s been clear that can’t be sorted with some WPT magic and Adrian Barnes’ paintbrushes is the building, which has suffered from years of neglect.

“We can’t wait for the building works to be completed to give our children and their families the environment they deserve.”

Mr Nicholson, Assistant Headteacher at Foljambe Primary School added: “We’ve been granted a sum of money from the Department for Education to move our school into the 21st century, providing our school with the very best facilities. For this to happen, we’ve had to make some short-term changes with our friends at Thrybergh Primary School during the spring and summer terms.

“We want the very best for the children at Foljambe and we’re going to give them this.”

Mrs Parry-McDermott, Headteacher at Thrybergh Primary School said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for our two schools and the community to come together. Whilst at Thrybergh, the children will benefit from a wealth of experiences and expertise from staff across both schools who have been working collaboratively for many months.

“During this time of integration, students will have as little disruption as possible, with most children being taught by a familiar face, and learning alongside their peers.”
