Yesterday, Class 3 had a wonderful visit to Creswell Crags to continue their study of the Stone Age, as part of the exciting History curriculum that we offer at Foljambe.
During the day the children took part in the following workshops/ activities:
⭐ Life in the Ice Age Cave Tour
They journeyed to the largest cave and saw where people sheltered during the last Ice Age. The children handled replica Stone Age tools, learnt about the humans who made them, and travelled into the darkest chamber to hear about the Ice Age animals who lived there.
⭐ Survival Skills Camp
Class 3 were challenged to see if they have what it takes to survive in the Ice Age! They learnt how to make a shelter using natural materials, threw spears like a Stone Age hunter, and saw how visitors to Creswell Crags made fire over 12,000 years ago.
⭐ Stone Age Safari
Finally, the children became palaeontologists and learnt all about the animals that roamed through Creswell Crags thousands of years ago. They assembled real animal skeletons, and discovered if they were food or foe.
Everyone had such an amazing day, and the children followed the Foljambe Way perfectly. Well done, Class 3!
